What is Custom LASIK?

Custom LASIK surgery is the advancement of traditional LASIK surgery and offers patients a greater chance of achieving the eye sight they desire but only achieve with glasses or contact lenses. Custom LASIK is the process where the ophthalmologist diagnose more complicated visual imperfections for treatment.  These aberrations affect the crispness and clarity of your vision. 

There are some vision problems that are more complicated than typical refractive errors.  Examples of these vision problems include haze, halos, and poor night vision. Conventional LASIK surgery does not address the causes of these aberrations.  But, Custom LASIK allows the surgeon to custom-tailor the vision correction procedure to the individual’s condition.  Mapping of the eye with 3D technology shows the LASIK surgeon the finite layout of the cornea.  This allows the LASIK surgeon to remove flaws during surgery.  Sometimes, Custom LASIK is prescribed for individuals who have undergone previous traditional LASIK surgery.

Custom LASIK surgery can provide a more crisp and clearer vision experience than traditional LASIK surgery.  In an FDA study, over 97% of custom LASIK patients experienced vision classified as 20/20 vision ( or better ).
